I’m an Illinois Wesleyan student approaching my senior year as a biology major. This summer I will be in the Philippines interning at the International Rice Research Institute, thanks to many at Illinois Wesleyan and the Freeman Asia Scholarship. I will be working under researchers in the genetics and biotechnology division, with the overall goal being to increase nutrition security from rice, a staple food of many worldwide. When I am not in the lab, I will be exploring what the Philippines has to offer!
